Suggestions Please!
So every once in a while I have to change something on the blog...just because I can I suppose. What's really bugging me right now is the title and/or the domain name. It's hard to explain to people that Biner is not our last name but actually a strange nickname derived from my husband's attempt to make "albino" less offensive. I guess the humorous companion to the nickname people with albinism have for normally pigmented people: pigmentos.
I want a name that reflects the new attitude I'm trying to adopt: not the pessimist of the past or the unrealistic Pollyanna, but the wanna-be-hip mama that takes special needs in stride. The kind of outlook that kicks ass and takes names. (And to show you how far I've got to go - I had to google that phrase to make sure I had it right. Thank you urban dictionary!)
The best I can come up with so far is "Shera and the Short Bus." But this name only makes sense to girls who were born in the 80's and it's not entirely accurate since Emerson actually takes a huge bus to preschool. So hopefully you can see my dilemma and offer some more creative suggestions.
I'm happy to offer a reward to the person with the best idea. Let's see what my skills are...if you are local, I can babysit or clean your house. And if you're not local, I can edit term papers or help you craft a sermon. (I said I had skills - I didn't say they were useful.)

"The Not-So-Short Bus" ?
I'm horrible at this. Super-horrible, even. But I think you're really close with your She-Ra idea. Then again, I'm a woman who was born in the 1980's, aren't I? But it has a nice ring to it (I do love me a good alliteration)--and no one cares if Emerson's is actually shorter-than-average or if he even rides one. It's a light-hearted symbol, and, to me, it says, "taking this in stride." I'll keep thinking--though I can't promise to come up with anything. In fact, I can *almost* promise not to. Still, I'll let you know if inspiration strikes.
Vanilla twIce?
Vanilla Beanes??
I loved She-Ra. I recently found those shows on Hulu and tried to watch one with my girls, it was hella scary! I can't believe some of those 80's cartoons our parents let us watch. So, tangent. Um, I suck at making names. My creativity is very limited in that area, but if I think of something i will most definitely let you know.
The Fairest Ones of All? Can you tell I've been watching Snow White repeatedly??
Genetic White lightning strikes twice... ummm mine sucks! I love the Not-So-Short Bus... how about SPF 1000
Ooo, ooo! What fun! Though I don't think I can top "Vanilla Beanes" below, here're my entries (if they bring to mind euphemisms for...other stuff, that was not my intent): The Princess & Her Pearls; White is the New Blonde; Two Spoons Full of Sugar (hellooo Pollyanna); Two Pearls in the Oyster of Life (I've got a great quote I'll email you); ...and if you wanna get offensive ;), Pigment Sucks. Hey, I didn't say they were good, I just said I had fun.
what about..All- Bin-No? Yes! or All (about the) Bino brothers! kidding, don't think u would want to use Albino as a heading for the blog..I quite like biner..maybe u can use Beane instead.. ' Tales of the Al-Beane-know brothers' or just plain simple ' The Beane brothers'
okay... now I love pigment sucks!
Vanilla Twice....ha, that's funny.
What are you goals for your blog? To increase awareness? To make a little bit of money? Just to vent?
The name you choose can help more (new) readers find your blog using Google.
For example, 1.8 million people per month use "Albino" as a search term, but only 135,000 people search on the term "Albinism"
I've sent you a private e-mail with a list of terms that may help you discover a new name.
I love Vanilla Twice! I also love the She-ra reference! I'm an 80's woman too, ya know!
